Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, philanthropist and television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she moved to England at the age of 16 and completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The famous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it before the age of 21. Then she became an author for a conservative newspaper after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year after, she created an online platform for voice that offered criticisms on politics. The fame she gained allowed her to persuade a number of stars to voice their views on current events, as well as politics and culture. Arianna was first noticed when she ran in California's recall vote, in the place of Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of a Detroit-based project that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes identified her as the top female in the media industry in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian also included her to the list of 100 most influential media for 2009. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was named the president of this group. This included many AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos as well as Elli, who are both journalist and management consultants. Although she had a close connection to both of her parents and father, it was their relationship that shaped her. From her early years, she displayed leadership qualities that are still highly regarded. When she was in her 16th year she moved to Britain to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was awarded. Following her graduation, she became a critic columnist and television host. She was a guest on Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own novels with his help.
